Literary bag – the opening sentence of Dodie Smith’s “I capture the castle”, one of my favourite novels.
Antique globe in the Magdalen College Old Library. Salute to home countries old and new.
Clandestine midnight affair – hanging out bunting with knitting buddies.
Dusk on the river.
The Paddington Station ceiling. Every time I’m leaving London in the evening, I take a moment to admire it. It doesn’t work nearly as well during the day though.
Hawthorn flowers; I took this photo probably about a month ago, on a nice, warm late April day. Suddenly, it’s June – how did that happen? The half term was rubbish, weather-wise, and so I feel like I have missed those last days of spring and all the flowers are gone.
A side alley near Wigmore Hall; one of those glorious old Victorian corners one sometimes discovers in London. There used to be a convent here – I tried to find out what happened to it, but had little luck. King’s Fund occupies the premises now.
St James Square.
