On the Bank Holiday Monday we drove across the southern England to Kent, to visit the Sissinghurst Castle and gardens. To me, this was a fulfillment of a dream, and a pilgrimage of sorts. I had hoped for sunny weather, but was in the end happy to settle on it not raining on the day. I’m now dreaming of going back, in October when it’s quiet and autumn roses are blooming.
